The Doyle Family

The Doyle Family is the nineteenth episode of Season 4 of the American Supernanny show.

Episode summary[]

Jo visits the Doyle family in Erlanger, Kentucky where a young couple Brandy (24) and Doug (25) are struggling with their three small children: 5-year-old Sara, 3-year-old Lizzy and 20-month-old Andrew.

Brandy and Doug are the parents and all three of the children refuse to listen and they terrorize them.

Lizzy is the biggest problem of them all. She's very aggressive, throws tantrums and causes mischief. She is 24 hours day, 7 days a week.

Every time Lizzy misbehaves, the other siblings sometimes will feed into it.

Sara is stubborn and she will fight until the end when she wins. One time she gave herself a haircut with scissors.

Baby Andrew constantly throws tantrums and sits on Brandy's lap 24 hours a day.

Brandy spends the majority of her time cleaning the house, leaving her children with nothing to do all day.

When Doug comes home from work, he just sits on the couch, leaving Brandy to discipline the kids by herself. At the parents' meeting, Jo makes it clear to the parents that they're both lazy. Jo gets embarrassed by having to witness Brandy and Doug bicker with each other about who is more responsible about looking after the kids and which of them does more or less around the house.

Can Jo help the Doyles control their children and get the parents to start being more lively?

This episode was originally intended to air in Season 2, but was pushed back to Season 4.
This is the third episode that was pushed over to another season. The second was The Fager Family episode, the first was The Cantoni Family episode.
This was the first and only episode that had Reinforcement Continues.
The intended air date was May 29, 2006 after last weeks when she helps The Newton Family.
Brandy is tied with Shannon from The Kerns Family & Bethany from The Garcia Family as they are the 3rd Youngest Parents in Supernanny History, With the 2nd Youngest being Anthony from The Garcia Family & the Youngest Parent overall being Samantha from The George Family.
People have sympathized with Deanna after Lizzy stressed her out. People have also said that Jo and Brandy should have went over the Naughty Chair with Deanna before they left.
On a card when Jo asks "What is Lizzy's favorite color?", her name is spelled as Lizzie.
- It is possible her name is multi-spelled due to Lizzy/Lizzie being short for Elizabeth.
This is technically the first episode to take place in Kentucky, even though The Terrill Family was aired first.
