The Walker Family is the thirteenth episode of Season 3 of the American Supernanny show.

Episode summary

Jo visits the Walker Family in Plainfield, Illinois where Alice (32) and Anthony (42) need help with their 3 kids: 12-year-old son Anthony Jr., 6-year-old daughter Naleila “Leila”, and 14-month-old daughter Alyssa. Alice's 17-year-old nephew, Marcus (the kid's maternal cousin) also lives with the family.

Anthony Jr. has no respect for his parents, Naleila refuses to sleep in her own bed and has been sleeping in her parents' room every night since she was a baby. Alyssa is very clingy to Alice, who nurses Alyssa to sleep instead of teaching her how to go to sleep on her own.

Alice runs a home daycare and is at a loss of how to discipline her kids. Can Jo help this family out?

Trivia

  • This episode is the first time that a celebrity or a famous person appeared on Supernanny, being Dwayne Wade. This episode would be followed by, The Wilson-Knutson Family (Wilson Phillips), The James Family, (Mike James), and The McGrath Family (Sean Bubsy).
  • Anthony Jr. was sent to his bedroom to be disciplined after he told his mom to "move" during the Teaching stage. However, according to Jo in The Weston Family, it's not a good idea for someone to be send to their bedroom for discipline. However, considering he was an older child, there was likely an explanation as to why he was sent to his own bedroom rather than a Reflection Room instead.
    • Although Anthony Jr. was sent to his room for 10 minutes, he was actually 12 years old in the episode, so he should've done 12 minutes instead of 10.
    • This episode, was in fact, not the first time where Jo had the wrong time set, for a child. In The Winter Family, Erika was given a 7 minute timeout, despite being 6 years old, and in The Park Family, Farley was given a 5 minute timeout, instead of a 4 minute one. Louis and Ciaran in the The Gormley-Brickley Family were given a 3 minute timeout instead of 2 minutes.
    • If Anthony Jr. had done 12 minutes, he would've had the longest timeout, to be recorded in Supernanny history, without the need of extra minutes wrongfully given by parents (18 minutes in The Cooke Family, and 45 minutes in The Jackson Family), or when the timeout is restarted when a child escapes (under this condition, Zoe from The Benjany Family has the longest timeout recorded in the show, at 3 ½.)
  • This, The Schwartz Family, and the The Wilson-Knutson Family are the only families to have aunts.
    • This is also the only episode to have a nephew living with their aunt and uncle.
